Success Starts with Hearing

Empowering Students Through Auditory Clarity

We run targeted school children hearing screening that quickly spot hearing loss and ear related problems that impair learning. Our professional rapid screening, clear reporting, and coordinated referrals enable timely support for the children, teachers, parents and clinicians — helping learners to communicate, stay engaged and succeed in class.

In order to help detect difficulties with hearing as soon as possible, Echo Audiology Centre provides school-age children with hearing screening services. Since even mild hearing loss can impact learning and communication in the classroom, early detection of hearing loss is crucial for a child's academic success, language development, and social interaction. Children of all ages can benefit from our school screenings because they are quick, safe, and non-invasive. Early identification of difficulties enables prompt intervention, referral, and support, enabling each child to attain their full potential.

Academic Performance

Even a minimal hearing loss can cause a student to miss up to 50% of classroom discussions, leading to fatigue and falling grades.

Social Integration

Clear hearing is vital for developing social cues, building friendships, and participating in group activities and sports.

Early Intervention

Identifying a hearing issue in Primary school allows for corrections before critical developmental windows close.

Zero Downtime

We bring our mobile diagnostic units to your campus, ensuring minimal disruption to the school day.

Our 3-Phase Screening Model

Echo Audiology provides a professional, "turnkey" solution for schools. We handle the logistics, the testing, and the parent communications.

1
Pre-Screening & Education

We provide the school with digital information packs for parents and consent forms. We can also conduct short "Ear Health Awareness" talks for staff and students.

2
Onsite Diagnostic Day

Our certified audiologists set up in a quiet area of the school. We use Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE) for younger children and Screening Audiometry for older students. The process is fast, fun, and non-invasive.

3
Reporting & Referrals

Parents receive a confidential "Pass/Refer" report. For students who do not pass, we provide a clear pathway for a full diagnostic evaluation at our Milton Park clinic.

Institutional Deliverables

The Link Between Hearing and Literacy in Zimbabwe

In the Zimbabwean educational context, high classroom noise and acoustics can make it difficult for even normal-hearing students to focus. For a child with an undiagnosed hearing loss or chronic middle ear fluid (Glue Ear), the challenge is doubled.

Our screenings in Milton Park have shown that many children struggling with reading or spelling actually have high-frequency hearing losses. By partnering with Echo Audiology, schools can provide a vital safety net that ensures every child has an equal opportunity to reach their full potential.
